Overview
For this project, we were tasked to observe our collage, which we had done beforehand, in an abstract sense and establish our binary Design Drivers. Then, we encoded them into a cryptex within the limitations of 21 cm on all sides, 13 lines, 8 planes and 5 volumes.

Final Model

This Cryptex's primary design driver is "Mess and order", and the secondary design diver is "Network and Proximity"
In this project, Mess was interpreted as twisting planes, while Order was interpreted as rectilinear volumes and planes. For the secondary design driver, Network was interpreted as "a form of communication", while Proximity was interpreted as "without communication".
Thus, Network was implemented by creating cuts and slots that allow for the interlocking of the volumes and planes, while Proximity was the closeness of certain volumes and planes that do not have a direct "communication".
The result? A unique form that displayed a stark contrast between the rectilinear volumes and planes and the twisted planes. Additionally, Network and Proximity that was incorporated into the cryptex provided the much-needed stability.
